ABOUT KEN FREIMUTH

Ken has spent a great deal of his professional life in the Security field.  He has been the head of Security at a major division of a large defense contractor for the last 17 years with responsibility for two plants.  Before that he had a 20+ year career as a U.S. Army officer in Field Artillery and Military Police organizations.  Much of the time he was responsible for security of nuclear and chemical weapons in the United States and in Europe. He brings to the course experience to provide you practical information that will assist you in gaining knowledge of the principles of modern-day security management.  Since security (e.g., "Homeland Security") is on the minds of many citizens, this subject is timely.

One of his hobbies is sailing, though he doesn't do that much anymore. He grew up in Maryland where boating is very popular and convenient. He is also an avid Harley rider and sometime telemark skier (which means, in his words, "I fall a lot").

Ken has a B.S. in English from  Loyola College (Baltimore, MD), 1963; a M.A. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University (Huntsville, TX), 1974; and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix (Ogden, UT), 1998

He is also a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) (You'll find out more about CPP in the course.)
