Getting Started

Introduction:

This course consists of reading and written assignments. Take time to READ and UNDERSTAND the material in the text. Before long you will start developing a security "sixth sense" which will grow to the degree that you integrate and apply the subject matter. Also, your understanding of the material will be enhanced by reading and applying the Chapter Goal and Objectives and completing the assignments found on the Lecture page.

Required Text: Fischer/Green, Introduction to Security, 7th ed., Elsevier, 2004.  This is a new text!!!  Please don't buy the 6th  or earlier edition; you'll be wasting your money.

Course Description: This course examines  the nature of the  security management profession. It studies principles and major managerial concepts in asset protection, loss control, and crime prevention.
