If you want to see a photo of me, go to the bottom of this page. It was taken in August of 2003. I was standing beneath a juniper tree next to my brothers at Pine Valley, near St. George, Utah, about fifteen hundred miles from where I presently live in the Northwest. As you see, I am grizzled and aging. I turned seventy-four in 2007, so I've been around awhile.

Books I Have Written

The Canyons of Grace, stories, 1982

The Backslider, novel, 1986

Juanita Brooks: Mormon Woman Historian, biography, 1988

Night Soil, stories, 1990

Aspen Marooney, novel, 1995.

Where to Find Me

I teach this course from my condominium apartment in Issaquah, Washington, which is about fifteen miles east of Seattle. The weather here is like Seattle's, rainy for long weeks at a time in the winter, pleasantly sunny in the summer.
