Solving for R

Given the following information, solve for R.
  • R is unknown,
  • The current (I) in a circuit is 2A.
  • Electromotive force (E) is 12V.

To solve for the Resistance (R) in the circuit, cover the R as shown below, cover the R as shown below; E and I remain visible. 

The answer would be R = E/I, or R = 12V/2A ohms, resulting in R = 6 ohms.
