Answer each of the following questions first in your word processor. When you are finished, be sure to save your work. Then copy it and paste it all into the appropriate box below. This activity has several parts to it. Do not leave any of the parts undone. It is better to do a bit more than a bit less than you think is necessary. That way I can be pretty sure you have read through the chapter and understand it pretty well.

Please base your responses to the questions below on chapter 14 & 24 of your text:

From this chapter's reading respond to the following questions. Make sure you have answered them sufficiently enough to demonstrate that you have thoroughly read and understand the principles in the chapter. 

  • Explain, according to the learned response theory how people, places and situations can be considered stressful even though on the surface there is no logical reason for them to be stressful.
  • Of all the environmental factors discussed in this chapter, what are the two or three that can contribute most to creating a more relaxing and peaceful environment for you?
  • Discuss two specific things that you can do to make your environment more relaxing.
  • Describe your thoughts and feelings about the following subjects treated in this chapter:
    - Aromatherapy
    - Seasonal Affective Disorder
    - feng shui
    - Chromotherapy
  • Describe the ways that you might be a victim of technostress and technosis.

  • What are some ways that music has been found to help the health of people?

  • Which two major types (genres) of music have been found to be helpful in reducing stress?
  • What is an adagio movement?
  • Finish your discussion with your thoughts of how this information affects you personally including any insights you had about yourself and the stress that you experience.
