Stress Management Course Files

Welcome to lesson two

This week we learn about how stress happens in the body.

You will find this week's work in chapters 3 & 16 of the text. The main component of this week's work revolves around the chapter on the physiology of stress.

This information gives us an excellent first step to understanding how to deal with stress. Your first assignment this week is the assessment connected to this week's lesson.

You will also be experiencing the first relaxation exercise of the semester called the PowerNap. Follow the instructions for this assignment carefully.

Additionally, we are going to introduce ourselves, not only to the discussion area, but also, we are going to begin looking at our thoughts and cool ideas about thinking and well-being. A one or two-liner that says a lot is called an aphorism. Follow the aphorism assignment in the discussion area. Your assignment for the aphorisms is to find at least one excellent aphorism and post it in the discussion area that pops up when you click the link titled "Lesson 2 - Cool Quotes." As you do this, you will get to enjoy the aphorisms shared by other people as well, and be inspired, amused, or confused depending on what shows up in there. Think about the way other aphorisms make you feel as you share them with family, friends, neighbors, etc.

Finally, one of the bigger projects that you will do this semester is a book review. You will get started on this by going to the link that gives you instructions for the book review.
